Why refurbish and renovate your home?

There are many reasons why people embark on a house renovation project. Sometimes they have a long-term plan to sell and want to increase the value of their home over time. The most common projects we see for this are kitchen and bath renovations. Another reason may be the need for additional living space for growing family or aging parent(s), so in these cases, home additions are often the solution. In the San Jose area, it’s common to see older homes with inefficient or outdated kitchen layouts.

Some kitchens seem to be designed for one cook with little space for storage or interacting with other people or family members. Overall home upkeep can be another reason people renovate their home. Failing plumbing, tired cabinets and dated finishes often spur a bathroom remodel. Many of our master bath remodels involve removing a seldom used tub or Jacuzzi tub in favor of a larger, walk-in shower.

What makes a fire door?

A fire door is a door with a fire-resistance rating (sometimes referred to as a fire protection rating for closures) used as part of a passive fire protection system to reduce the spread of fire and smoke between separate compartments of a structure and to enable safe egress from a building.

Why fit fire doors?

Internal fire doors must always be fitted to incorporate the correct intumescents or smokeseals. They play a crucial role in restricting the spread of fire and smoke, and must be fitted correctly. For a door to work effectively, it must be free to move within the frame.
