We have been busy in Hyde this week renovating a bathroom. We removed the bath & suite and replaced them with a low level walk-in shower, new toilet and new sink. We clad the walls and ceiling in bathroom cladding and we tiled the floor to complete the job.
Here are some pictures of an extension we finished this week in Oldham. We have added an 8×4 metre rear extension with a 4x2m glass lantern roof and large doors / windows. We have removed the existing external walls and internal kitchen walls to create an open plan kitchen / dining room.
Also we have created a WC cloaks with shower, toilet and basin in between the utility room and the garage. The ceilings and walls have been covered in cladding for aesthetics and durability.
For good measure all of the downstairs doors have been upgraded to oak glazed doors to finish the job.

The owner of this house in Audenshaw wanted to give it a face lift. We have full re rendered it and it now looks great.
There’s no denying that applying a render system to an old, tired-looking building will transform its appearance – making it look modern and more visually appealing. Local authorities will often use render when renovating their properties for this reason.
This aesthetic improvement can be beneficial in multiple ways – if you live in the property – it makes your home look nice. If you looking at selling a property, it can make it look more visually appealing to potential buyers. External walls that are in a poor condition can lead to the ingress of water and external debris which will worsen if left untreated. The use of a render system on an external wall forming a barrier, protecting a building from the elements. These renders incorporate water repellent technology, protecting against water whilst still allowing the substrate to breathe.
From a wide range of colours, to a huge selection of textures and finishes, there are a wealth of possibilities available when rendering a house.

This month we have completed a side extension in Chadderton Oldham.
If you are considering extending your home it can increase its value, it’s also worth considering the solutions to problems a home extension can provide. Could it fix the problem with the creaking, leaking conservatory? Will it give your family a bigger kitchen that it will be easier to live life in? Will it improve the flow of your home? Will it mean you can open the back door and go straight into the garden? Will it give you space for an office? Does it provide a room so people can come and stay? Home extensions can be a great solution to these common problems.

Take a look at this replacement staircase we recently fitted in a rental property in Stalybridge no more creaky old stairs. If you are thinking of replacing existing stairs or adding a new staircase as part of a bigger renovation or building project, this is a substantial job both structurally and visually.
When considering a new staircase, you need to think about the materials you like and the style you wish to achieve. Traditional wooden staircases are always warm, look great in almost any home, plus can be painted or stained to suit. But there are also many modern steel and glass designs for those looking for a more contemporary look. When choosing the materials, it really all comes down to your available budget and personal preference. Whatever material you choose, it will have to comply with current Building Regulations if you are having a new staircase rather than simply replacing an existing one.
The stairway construction must be strong enough to hold your weight while allowing comfortable access to the second floor. Also, on entering many homes the staircase is immediately visible, so needs to look great too!

We have been fitting new energy efficient French doors fitted this month in Dukinfield. Standard doors can negatively affect your home’s climate control by letting the air conditioning seep out, or letting the heat and humidity seep in. You waste more energy than you think through your home’s doors. When your home uses doors that are properly insulated with plenty of thermal reflection ability, the temperature stays consistent and it takes less energy to maintain your preferred conditions.
